Eligible Caddo Parish Residents Qualify for up to $60k to become a Homeowner
Last month the Louisiana Housing Corporation(LHC) announced the launch of the new Pathways to Homeownership soft second mortgage initiative to assist first-time homebuyers in eligible parishes.
Today I’m proud to announce eligible Caddo Parish first-time homebuyers can receive up to $55,000 or 20% down payment assistance toward purchasing a home, along with $5,000 in closing-cost assistance. The program provides first-time homebuyers with incomes at or below 80% of the area median income to purchase one-unit family homes. All or a portion of the loan is forgivable if certain conditions are met.
"I recognize that homeownership represents the cornerstone of achieving “The American Dream” and believe that it should not be an either or proposition for our community. We must believe that we can have a healthy mix of single family for homeowners or renters, multi-family dwellings, senior living facilities, or mix-used development. As our board member on the LHC it is my commitment to continue to advocate for funding that will provide our community with diverse housing options and increase awareness of how to access our resources so that all individuals can benefit."
