“Small businesses are critically important part of a healthy, vibrant economy. Whether it be in new job creation or support for local activities, small business promotes and stimulates the well-being of a community,”
Throughout the country, Small Business Saturday serves as the ceremonial kickoff of the holiday shopping season for small businesses across the United States. According to the American Express 2016 Small Business Saturday Consumer Insights Survey, an estimated 112 million consumers reported shopping at small businesses on Small Business Saturday.
"Small businesses boost the economy and invigorate neighborhoods around the country. I have long been an advocate of locally owned business. Too often, we are too quick to invest local resources to attract the national big-businesses while investing too few in those individual ideas who are homegrown and mutually invested in our community. A trend we must work to reverse. From the mom and pop restaurant that serves up the most flavorful down home dish to the local fashion boutique providing authentic fashions trends. Small business owners and their teams throughout our community demonstrate the sticktoitiveness that keeps the spirit of entrepreneurship alive and well!"
